Join an educational filleting course with Ole Morten Vesterås, where you will learn about fish welfare, fish cleaning (gutting and filleting), and how to prepare fish for cooking.

We are excited to repeat last year’s success with our filleting course led by Ole Morten Vesterås, also known as “Kokken min”! Join a course that combines a pedagogical and hands-on approach with a warm social atmosphere and delicious food. The day begins at Tranøy Lighthouse, where you will learn about humane fish handling, basic cutting, filleting, and preparation, along with an introduction to fish welfare and kitchen hygiene. A light lunch is served, followed by a break to enjoy the beautiful surroundings before continuing the experience.

In the afternoon, you will take part in preparing a festive meal together, complete with dessert, which you will enjoy as a group in the evening. A welcome mingling drink is included during the cooking session. On Sunday, a delicious breakfast made from local ingredients and homemade baked goods will be served before departure. Previous participants praised the course for its practical teaching style, the instructor’s generosity and expertise, and the outstanding food and flavors.

The course day is divided into 2 parts. First part from 10:00-14:00 at Tranøy lighthouse. Second part from 16:00 where we prepare a festive meal.

The course has a maximum capacity of 10 participants. We recommend booking early to secure your spot, as the course is popular and tends to sell out quickly.

The price is NOK 2000 for the Saturday course, including dinner and mingling drinks. This is the option you are currently booking.

The full package is NOK 3000 and includes the Saturday course, dinner and mingling drinks, overnight stay in a double room, and breakfast. Please note there is an additional NOK 400 supplement for a single room.
